Funnan Software is a small guild of experienced C++ veterans who spent their careers crafting serious software — and decided it was time to craft something fun.

Our Story

We came up through the industry writing C++ — shipping performance-critical systems, tools, and applications where correctness and efficiency weren't optional. Over the years we honed a deep bench of technical expertise, but we kept coming back to the same question: what if we poured all of this into making games?

Funnan Software is the answer to that question. We're a small, focused guild that brings a professional engineering mindset to game development. That means deliberate architecture, tight iteration loops, and a genuine obsession with how things feel to play — not just how they look on a feature list.

Our first title, Briarthorn, is a situational awareness fighter RPG built around flying unique aircraft classes through enemies, challenges, and puzzles — solo or alongside a team. It's the kind of game we always wanted to play, so we decided to make it ourselves.
